RE: SOMEBODY, HELP
Actually, you would use katakana, not kanji. This thread discusses transliterating English (and other non-Japanese) surnames into kanji; basically, using kanji to represent a foreign name would not be a good idea, except as a gag.
Anyways, back to katakana. Katakana goes by the sounds, using the Japanese syllabary to approximate foreign words. So, in katakana:
Christian is クリスチャン (kurisuchan)
Michael is マイケル (maikeru)
Some other examples:
Lee リイ (rii)
Mary メアリ (meari) or マリー (mari-)
John ジョン (jon)
Charles チャールズ (cha-ruzu)
New York ニューヨーク (nyu- yo-ku)

Cogito, ergo sum.

Remember though that some words describe foreign things with kanji, like 聖書 (せいしょ) - "holy book" - is the Bible, and 米軍 (べうぐん) is the American Army. Just a tidbit of info, these are few and far in between.
XD At this sig.
