buddhist weddings are very sombre events..
I should post the pictures of my wife and I doing our ninja poses outside of the temple where we had our Buddhist Wedding.
Nothing like the sight of someone in 白無垢 throwing a fireball.

do christians in japan do erstatz weddings too? not that i care really. but the part i like is that in japan mostly noone cares what you believe in, or if you believe in anything at all. *i think*

Because everyone is religious by cultural habit, while most people don't believe in a particular religion. Although many people don't believe in a religion, they can't ignore the fact that religion is actually very important to their society, and this makes it really hard to judge someone else based on their religion :p

No, they do real Christian weddings, but their numbers are VERY small compared to the number who just go for the trappings of the classical "white wedding."
