Hahaha, I can't believe I'm finally looking at your picture! Until now you've existed only through text and your avatar. It's hard to comprehend you actually have a face.
ditto
Many years of happiness!

RE: My wedding
Wow, so many responses!
Thanks everyone!
Yeah, that Nijikai pic snuck in there, and like the date typo, I haven't been bothered enough by it to fix it.
That's my little brother by the way.
I was originally going to write the whole thing by hand, but then I realized that I'm really busy lately, so I just downloaded some stuff.
A lot of it is code reused from other sites I've made (like the fading links and whatnot).
Congratulations! I hope it's less stressful than mine was! =)
The men's outfit is called a hakama. You usually can't afford to purchase them, and instead rent them (which is expensive enough!). My wife's mother is a beautician, so she owns a number of them. My wife's kimono is 40,000 dollars. I'm not sure how much my hakama was though. (edit. My wife says about 8000 dollars).
I know what you mean. Ever since you changed your avatar, I can only see you as 小力. *laugh*
And yeah, Japanese people never get Red eye... punks.
Thank you! I broke the glass and everything at my nijikai (took me 3 tries, even though I practiced at home first :/ )
Thanks again to everyone who sent me warm wishes! I'm getting all gooey inside! (either that or I sat in something).
Thanks everyone!
I'm glad to see amongst the "Wedding Ceremony" shots that someone turned up dressed as a monkey. No Japanese social event is complete without at least one !

On the IT side of things...your site design and layout is flawless, nice touch, did you design it??

Im getting married in tokyo in about 3 weeks time, i hope my wedding looks as cool as yours........
Just one question did you buy or hire your kimono (please dont shoot me if thats the wrong word for the mans dress)...........and if you dont mind me asking how much was it?
Congratulations! I hope it's less stressful than mine was! =)

Omedetou gozaimasu.
The amazing thing about kimono's aren't that they can cost tens of thousands of dollars each. It's that Geisha have closets full of them.
なるほど。

Thank you! You should see her without 400 pounds of white makeup! =)
My avatar is actually a charicture I did of my roomate back in college. I just liked his little screaming face so much that I made it my icon.

Congratulations, nice wedding.
Goals:
1) Have decent proficiency in Japanese, enough to get around/talk/read/write.
2) Visit Japan for a week or so one summer.

Harisenbon married a Geisha
!!
Congratulations!! Looks like a wonderful wedding. My wife and I simply went the 入籍 route, with no ceremony or party. Looking at your photos, I don't know if I feel envy or relief.
