Why did you choose your avatar?

Harisenbon said his little screaming man is a charicture he did in college of his room mate. I love his avatar and I also love infidel's .

I am curious as to the reason or symbolism of other people's avatars.
For example why did kanadajin choose a girl when he is a male?

I just changed mine... my old avatar was Miyavi because he's my favourite singer. Now it's Howl, because of my fondness for the movie Howl's Moving Castle.
