I got up at 5:30. The person in the apartment above mine was listening to music! I didn't eat breakfast. I went to my job at 8:30. I plan on going to lunch at 12:00. I plan on studying japanese for 2 hours. I will go home at 9pm. Afterwards, I will drink a little alcohol (literal translation.) I will go to bed at 1am.

RE: watashi no asa... watashi no nichi
I read it like that.
The only thing I would change is in the sentence "watashi no apaato", I think you should switch the words around so it reads "watashi no apaato no ue ni hito".
I'm not sure on that, so maybe someone else can clarify, but it sounds good!

I was saying "The people "wa" in the apartment above mine "ni" music "o" were listening."
After studying particles more (knowing what I know now) I should have used "de" in place of "ni."
De shows where something takes place, ni shows movement.

It was done mostly right, but there were a few mistakes. For one, "Go ji yojuugofun", says 5:45. Sa gave you the corrected version.Diggity wrote:

By the way, though it wont matter when you start writing in Japanese, you usually put "(Number) + ji)" together. So its shouldnt be, "Go ji," but "Goji." Again, this is vanity once you write in Japanese.
Another mistake was with "watashi no apaato no ue ni." You'd put that before the subject and add "Sunde Imasu." And just stick before the subject and its correct.
The final thing I want to say, and I may say more later, is you should use "Iru" to start showing progressive actions. For example, your phrase, "ongaku o kikimashita" means "he listened" not "He was listening." So:
Ongaku o kikimashita. = He listened.
Ongaku o kiite imashita. = He was listening.
Its best to use this, especially when refering to present tense.
Watashi wa tabete. = I eat.
Watashi wa tabete imasu. = I am eating.
It is much clearer.

There are better ways to say what I said but I am studying from the Genki textbook and haven't learned the -te form yet (still have 2 more chapters to get through.) Trust me as I learn it I will put it to use!
I didn't even see that I typed 5:30 in romaji at the bottom. I wrote it while I was at work and got pulled away from it like 3 times while I was doing it. I woke up at 5:30 but didn't get up until 5:45...

I just recently learned -te form in my Japanese class and I was able to understand that it makes it an -ing verb w00t! I am proud of myself!Opgots wrote:
