aw, I think Fruit Basket is fantastic as well.

I have trouble deciding who I like best, Yuki or Kyo. Shigure is so funny though!

I think Fruit Baskets has to be one of my favourite anime

I have felt like that too before, I always wondered if someone would make another Japanese site with all the constant members, you just had to be invited in to be a member though. That would be cool, and get rid of all the 1 post members/spammers.

As for the original question, I don't like fruit baskets.

That sort of thing very rarely works. Keeping out the 85% "few post/spammers" nearly always ends up keeping out the 1% "long term and heavily contributing" members.

I like Fruits Basket. It's just sooo cute. I'm definitely in the Kyo/Tohru club. I just don't see her with Yuki. I must admit he kinda creeps me out sometimes lol. But I LOVE Shigure. It's a great anime. And a great manga. It's the first manga I've gotten into and I'm just counting the days till the next issue comes out.

What if you told the long term members about it via the site, PM, and email? It wouldn't have to be an instant change. It could be over a while, like the yellow banner for the site changes was.

That would only get the _existing_ long term members. And not all of those at that. Without a constant flow of 'new blood' forums gradually slow-up and wither away. It's not impossible to have restricted membership mailing lists / forums to succeed but it's not at all easy either.
