Are membership accounts purged?

This is not a comment/suggestion. I would just like to know if you have registered an account at this site, would it be deleted if, say, you do not log in and/or post for a certain length of time?

Obviously if you rile the moderators too much you lose your account, but this is a completely different issue.

I think Zen-san figured out only about 100-200 members actually visit often, though.

We started this Fusion member software in January 2005 or was it 2004 (I think 2005)... Before that, TJP was just a bunch of static HTML pages. I am very glad I installed Fusion. With all its faults, it has enabled me to connect with so many people.

i think there should be a form asking:

1. are you serious about learning japanese?
2. do you think japanese is the c00lest th1ng 3va?

if you get "yes" on the second one, the account should be timed to be automatically deleted in a week B)

I wish to take this opportunity to thank Clay-san for hosting such a wonderful site.

Resources from many websites are so prominent, what made Tjp so outstanding ?

I guess simply because she won the heart of these people :
Coco, AJBryant, Richvh, Zengargoyle, Harisenbon, Justin, Adam, Oracle, Txkun, Keatonatron, Shibakoen, Infidel, Oyaji, Paul and a team of voluntary administrators.
As, we all know, they are always cheerful, grasp new concepts quickly and accept constructive ideas, their comments are well thought out and clearly articulated. Some of them even conversed privately on theoretical and practical matters of style, philosophy and etc.

I do understand that this is a free world, people come and quickly disappear. I can only lament that they do not know how to make good use of such a great opportunity.

From what I can gather, that's about the amount of participation back when it was flash-chat, maybe just a bit under. the few times i used flash-chat there weren't that many people and it was slow as snot.

I’m agreed with Zen-san here.

When a web site is huge and extremely popular, it will certainly attract a lot of people come from all over the world. The Internet offers tremendous opportunities to explore new ideas, learn new languages, meet other members and so on....
But like a cyberspace, aspects of the virtual world can be dangerous and harmful to some members. (We do not know exactly the age of the members). Parents, teachers and other guardians cannot always be on guide to prevent them from visiting web sites with harmful or objectionable content. Nor can they always be available to discuss with them what they are encountering in the online world.

So, taking the opportunity here, I wish to urge all members to remain active and contribute more meaningful topics to both the forum and chat.
