RE: We're Going To America
I will be checking e-mails and such now and then, so I don't think I'll completely disappear from here, though I may be scarce. Hopefully I'll have some fun stories to report when we get back.
Throw your pc away and enjoy your vacation (then coco-san will pick it up) !
Looking forward to reading your fun stories.

Actually last year it seemed like many of the video shops had Pocky and other Japanese candy next to the anime section. Maybe that's only on the west coast.
Did I mention we'll be eating steaks? Big ones.

Have fun on your trip, Oyaji-san and remember to check before you eat some of the steaks. They could contain mad cow disease :p
Check out Learn Japanese@Japancast.net!! They've got an awesome podcast!
It's not that I'm not knowledgeable, I just have trouble explaining the things I know ;)

Thanks everyone, I'm sure we're going to have a great time.
As far as the heat, I guess it's a choice between baking in the dry heat or steaming in the humidity. We've been steaming for a couple of week now, so I think we'll enjoy the change (I don't think "enjoy" is really the word that fits). We're taking LOTS of chap stick.
Always go for baking of boiling!
Honestly, I'm so used to the humidity here, when we went out west on vacation 90F felt more like 80F here. Sweating also has the opposite affect in a humid climate.
Anyway, sounds like you have a fun vacation planned! I'll be eagerly awaiting any stories you come back with - especially the culture related ones :p

Thanks - we had a really good trip.
wish you could have dropped by..
The farthest east we went was Yellowstone National Park. I would like to take my family back east some day though.
We did eat lots of hamburgers and corn on the cob though. And steaks.
