I am thinking of moving to Japan.
I am thinking of moving to Japan.
It has been a dream of mine my hole life to move to Japan. I don't know why but I really like the culture and every thing! I am going to start a savings account so I can have the monney to move there. I was wondering if it would be better to go to an American collage first then move to there or move to Japan then go to a Japanese collage.
This would be a big help.

Yeah I think that if you want to go to college you better know how to spell itFirst it would be great if you could spell college.

I think everyone on this site wants to go to Japan and thats probably why they're learning Japanese, If you want to improve your Japanese(because you don't think your very good at it) I would advise taking classes or buying books or whatever before you go to a Japanese college. You really don't have to go to college at all.. But thats if your planning to have a not so good jobor maybe not even a job at all. Some people say it's hard for some foreigner's to get jobs even if you do go to college, don't let that scare you though, some people say that's not true blah blah.. anyway! Going to an american college if your moving to Japan makes no sense to me.. Thats just like saying before you go to Japan your going to go to a russian college.
RE: I am thinking of moving to Japan.
While spelling is very important, don't let our comments spoil your dream. I hope you will get to live there in the future.
There have been several threads recently about going to a Japanese university. Do a quick search to find some good advice.

RE: I am thinking of moving to Japan.
I have found that, if you study Japanese long enough, your spelling will get worse. You'll also start to question the necessity of "the" and "a"....
Anyway, who needs college, when even the construction workers in Japan are so fashionable? B)

RE: I am thinking of moving to Japan.
This is the 6th thread about the exact same topic to come up in less than a month!
An already established thread is DIRECTLY BELOW THIS ONE as I speak. You can read about it here: http://www.thejapanesepage.com/forum/vi ... =14&t=5016
There's nothing wrong with starting your own thread, but now that I've written lengthy replies to 4 threads about the exact same thing, I'm going to become less informative. If you want to know what I have to say, you'll have to read the other threads.
Also:
Work in Japan
Work in Japan 2
Wanna move to Japan

RE: I am thinking of moving to Japan.
Let me ask you this question, what can you offer that will put you above and beyond any normal Japanese person when it comes to those jobs? Why would someone choose to hire you when they could hire pretty much anyone off the stree and not have to worry about communication issues, nor visa problems?Edit: If I go to Japan will my jobs be limted to the boring Translator and english teacher because I dont want those jobs, I would like to have a job like construction worker, anime artist, fast food worker, ect.
These are the types of questions you need to start thinking about if you are truly serious about trying to make it to Japan.
Edit:
Maybe we should add a section about this in the wiki...1...2...3...not it.

Do you get good jobs in the USA with no education?
No.
So why should you in Japan, with even less education?
I like this example: A Japenese comes to Amerika and goes to a Bank and wants to Work there.
The Manager asks: What are your qualifications?
Man: - Oh, i can speak a little bit English.
Manager: Oh...well we have 300Mio peole here who can speak english...
No.
