View topic - Thanking in advance
I think this rather a cultural question than a linguistical one.
Do Japanese thank in advance? For example, in letters or in forum posts.
I have heard that it is rather presumptious in Japan, because one is assuming that the person will respond, is that right?
And, last but not least, if I really want to thank in advance, what would I write in Japanese?
Thanks in advance for your replies!

"Hello, I have a question about [grammr topic here]. Could anyone please help me? Thanks."
It's exactly the same in Japanese. Just make your request, and end it with a ありがとうございます.
