Few questions
I'm 16, and I'm interested in going to TUJ for college, but I heard I have to pass level 2 of JLPT test? The thing is, money's limited, and I read somewhere you actually have to take the test in Japan. My mom's not thrilled with my Japan plans in the first place, so making her let me go just once for the test will be a battle. Should I just study like hell (my dumb city doesn't have any classes or teachers of any sort, so it all has to be self-taught) and go for the level 2? >_< I'm not sure what to do lol. Thank you!

RE: Few questions
You can take the JLPT outside of Japan if that's what you're asking.

Oh. -blink- -smacks self- I read somewhere you have to take the test in Japan. My main concern was me only able to go to take the test once, but if it's outside Japan also, that helps a lot. =P Thanks!

Shooting for JLPT level 2 isn't a walk in the park. I believe sometime would have to be spent in Japan for that level.

RE: Few questions
Well that's impossible, since when I go to Japan it will either be to take the JLPT or college. =P Like I said, mom isn't thrilled with my plans for the future. I contacted Temple, though, and asked whether I needed to take the test. I didn't remember reading it on the site, and it is an American/foreigner college.

RE: Few questions
JLPT testing locations outside Japan Looks like the closest to you would probably be Chicago.

Yup, 5 hour drive. I'd prefer not to be pressured into taking the test before (hopefully) going to Temple, so hopefully they'll get back to me in a few days saying I don't need to take it to get in. XP Thanks for the link, richvh!

I'm pretty sure Temple doesn't require you to take the JLPT now, but I still want to take it anyway when I go there. Thanks for replying.
And good job on passing level 1.
