The only one I could help with is "An Introduction to Modern Japanese", and only the one authored by Osamu and Nobuko Mizutani and published by the Japan Times, not the other text of the same name.

Erm...no.

But, I'm taking an interest in the "orphaned pages", because all of my contributions are there. I wonder how I can fix that... Should I link them to one another? :D

Now, seriously, they could use some linking.

Is it a full language textbook, If so just Im me with the info and I'll get it up there.

edit - it's always something.

You need to find somewhere appropriate to link them from. I don't think it is essential that there be _no_ orphaned pages - they can be direct linked to from the forum or found by searches. A page like "Interwiki Linking" doesn't have anywhere to link from that I can think of.

I think it's kinda ironical that "Interwiki Linking" is not linked from any other page (because of the title). ;)

Anyway, can I PM you with my link proposals? I don't want to mess up, you know.

The titles are identical, I think (the cover of my copy clearly says "An Introduction...") You'll have to use author or publisher to distinguish them.

Copyright: 1977
Chapters: 30
Pages: 425
Kanji: Unknown. Kanji are used in the dialogues and reading comprehension exercises from chapter 1, but all writing exercises (in chapters 13-29) are in hiragana, and there is no comprehensive list of kanji used.
Audience emphasis: classroom
Writing emphasis: separate integrated
Spoken emphasis: conversational
Audio: yes (cassette)
Workbook: no

Infidel, do you need any info from these books:

JFBP
Japanese for Young People
Japanese for Everyone
Genki
Minna no Nihongo
Kodomo no Nihongo

I have all of the books for each of these series (except a bunch of Minna no Nihongo - there are a ton of them!)

Well, I would appreciate it if you could give a look at the list and look up any missing infor or clarify the kanji if possible when there is a + next to the number. Sometimes the introduction or the last lesson will tell how many kanji were learned over the course of the text.

Unfortunately, without the texts on hand to examine myself, in many cases I can only put the info available on Amazon.

What I am slowly working toward is linking this list to reviews on each book. Once I complete this list I'll make up a template for the book reviews and review the ones I have access to.

If we get it professional looking enough, we may be able to ask the publishers for free samples so we can add them to our review sections. I know that many free sites do this very thing with computers and books, the main thing is to get something professional looking, then wait for our page hits to climb. Once the page hits are high enough we can justify requesting free copies to review.

It would probably be better to create a seperate page for non-English/Japanese books as this page is already getting a bit long. But, I would have no problem with linking it from this page.

You could create the page yourself or send me the info in an IM. Please remember that I'm doing this purely as a side project, and even then only when the mood strikes, so nothing is going anywhere quickly. I tend to work in spurts. But it will get done eventually by me even if no one else helps, just because I've always felt like there some be a list like this.
