Another Newbi
I jumped in on a few discussions without introducing myself..hehe.
I'm a 28 year old mother of 2 boys, 6 & 2 years old. I initialy wanted to learn Japanese in order to not have to have subtitles when watching movies, I'm a huge asian horror fan, but then became submersed in the culture. I collect comics and write horror fiction in my free time.
I'm also a huge fan of Visual Kei bands such as Dir en Grey....well...especialy Dir en Grey. They are my new obsession...
Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all!

Welcome. ^_^ Dir En Grey is the best. x3 I enjoy their music very much. And I can understand why you'd want to learn japanese; subtitles can be very annoying. Plus, it's always good to know multiple languages xD.

Thank you both:)
For the most part I don't mind subtitles...actually, it's the best way to learn the language IMO....I guess it works for people who watch as many asian movies as I do....
I've seen MoonChild so much that I don't even need the subtitles anymore..hehe...I know every line by heart:)

Hi, I posted this in another thread.. but I'll put it in your thread. Are you too just beginning Japanese. I am as well. I too saw that site with the lessons and completed lesson 1 and thought it was excellent. If you would like a study partner... I'm looking. ^_^

RE: Newbie
Hello!
Like Divine Macabre, I jumped in on a few discussions myself before coming here (sorry)!
I'm 32, I have 2 boys, 5 and 2 yrs old. I've always been fascinated by anything Japanese, especially anime, and reading subtitles is getting mighty old! I also started getting into music about 6 or 7 months ago (now an addict!) and learning the language will be a great help there! Right now I'm really into L'Arc~en~Ciel (my fav!), Orange Range, SOUL'd OUT and a few others. Thanks for listening!:D
