What color clay?

I'm at school editing the single ones, but I need to know what color should they be? Black? Gradient? I figured I'd get what you wanted or what matched best to the site. (What does everyone else think it should be? The fact that you don't know what it is nonwithstanding.)

I'm finishing the katakana page pictures, so Clay can have katakana lesson thingies like the hiragana.

I think any color is fine. I like blue myself, but any should work. The pages will have a black background and that goes with any color.

I was thinking it would be ok to just display Japanese characters, but the size may be too small.

No, that is ok. I meant the background behind the table is black. The table in the foreground is actually white.
