Self Learning Language Books

Postby Alea » Fri 06.03.2005 11:24 am

I'm currently learning Spaniah and French. I plan on going to Japan sometime after college with a friend and I'm going into international affairs. So I would love to learn Japanese and I'm also interested in Chinese and Taiwanese. Price doesn't matter as long as I have the best self learning Japanese books there are. Ya, I prefer books and I have a Japanese friend who can correct me on pronunciation if studies go wrong. So any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanx:D

Once you've got hiragana and katakana down I'd go with Minna No Nihongo....

@ sapphire: i hate to dissapoint, but Japanese people usually hire thier own artists, and have no need to hire foregn anime artists. Some is part discretion, the rest is the feeling that a natural-born artist will be better than one who didn't grow up with the culture. In short, you shouldn't go to Japan with the only expectation that you will be able to draw anime.
