RE: WagaWiki's Logo Thread
I just thought that if you make the background transparent you will want to resize the fan so that the edges aren't cut off.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.

I'm a big fan of #22 (page 2)
Simple, stylistic, classy.
I'm curious about why those three colors were chosen. Any reason?

I was going for the simple professional look so I am glad you feel that way

The colors were partially influenced by the color poll that was going on at the time.
I was playing around with several different color variations but this one just looked the best to me.
I like the two cool colors on opposite sides of the warm color. It makes the logo powerful and eye catching but at the same time allows it to blend with its surroundings as well.
The gradient towards the center of the diamond from top and bottom is meant to the character/characters on that diamond to the forefront of your vision while maintaining a subtle background ambient color.
Did you have any color suggestions? I believe I still have the .psd file somewhere so I can still tweak it around a bit.

RE: WagaWiki's Logo Thread
Shouldn't it be just:
"青がいいでしょうね" ?
In this context it is the noun, not the adjective which is apropriate, right?

RE: WagaWiki's Logo Thread
Dunno. You could also say that it is an adjective with the noun omitted as it's understood. And I think that's more like what I was saying...not that the color blue is good, but a blue logo would be nice. Anyway, regardless of either, I think blue would look nice for the logo color since it seems to be the predominant color here and with the wiki.
As for the blue/green thing, it's taught that it's blue in most of the textbooks I've seen. I wonder how much of the aoi=green stuff is akin to how we have "blue" grass here and often when mountains/hills are seen from a distance they appear blue. They do have the word midori, afterall... I have also heard, however, that there are many languages which don't have separate words for blue and green thus leading to the perception of the native speakers that blue and green are the same color. Regardless, I think that this site and the wiki are both blue.

If we had a color scheme with a Black background, I would really like #s 10 and 11. Especially if the text of the page were set to phosphor green. (as the logo is)

RE: WagaWiki's Logo Thread
actually.... on the WagaWiki you can tweak the theme to your hearts content. it just isn't necessarily easy unless you're familiar with CSS/Javascript.Chris Hart wrote:

See http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Gallery_of_user_styles for some examples of what other people have done themewise.
See http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_styles for the gory details of how to make your own.
basically, if your preferences are set for the default Monobook theme, you can go to User:Your User Name/monobook.css and put in any CSS you like. any Javascript goes in User:Your User Name/monobook.js
