HELP! filled in JLPT application wrongly!
i was kinda flustered when filling in the 'number of hours studied' for my JLPT 4 application. when i got home i realised i had circled the wrong number: 1 = <100 hours! i wanted to circle 2!
does anybody know if this figure is just for statistical purposes or will they look at it when grading my paper? *worried*
should i go back and amend my application?
secondly, i am also wondering if i should take JLPT 4 or 3... sigh... i'm pretty sure i can pass JLPT 4 with a bit of revision but since there's still about 3 months+++ to go before the test, will i make it in time to take JLPT 3?

Its just for statistics.
If you think that you have even a little chance I would go for level 3. Level 4 is a bit pointless really.

You applied but didn't select the level yet?
Are you sure the "hours studied" wasn't the actual level selection?

He's applied for 4.
If he changes his mind as applies again for 3 I suppose it's vaguely possible he might be able to get the money back on the first application but I'm doubtful.

I'd say shoot for 3!!! I mean, what do you really have to lose if you happen to fail 3? And as you said, there is still 3 months left. You could surely study a bit more until then.
I've never taken the JLPT for 4 or 3; however, if the price for 3 is greater than 4, there will be no refund if any sort. That much I know.

I don't see how it's pointless. It's a benchmark, and it helps.

Helps what?
With the exception of 1, they're all pretty pointless.
