how do you use IME

hi all
ive just set up the japanese IME on my computer but i dont know how to use it.
i have windows xp.
id appreciate any help.

Hi Mac,

If you haven't managed to discover the IMEI secrets by today, please take a look at the following address:

It has couple of links to IMEI tutorials, most of them showing Chinese language bar examples, though, but the functionality is very similar to the Japanese one.

A quick three step instruction could be:
1) Make sure you have the language bar visible, and if it is in the notification tray area, right click on and select RESTORE.
2) Switch to Japanese language. if you have no "JP" on your bar among the lang choice, you have something installed incorrectly.
3) On the expanded bar, with "JP" selected, you will propably see an "A" character. Click it, and switch to desired input mode, eg. HIRAGANA.
