Cooks during the feudal period
I have a friend who, for some reason, is researching Japanese feudal cooks. She's especially interested in what they wore and pictures. Does anyone know any good online or published sources for this information?

They wore regular clothes. Just like most cooks throughout history.
They occasionally wore an apron when things were messy.

I don't know what they wore, but I do know what they said:

OK, normal clothes... check. Normal feudal clothes? Or normal, uh, normal clothes?
Maybe something like this:

With or without those "normal clothes" you were talking about?

Heh, heh. Made you look.
No kidding? That's exactly what Gramma Kishii used to say when she cooked for me in Tanabe! She was a good cook, though, so I didn't mind.

Most likely something like some of what Tony has on his Japanese garb site.
