Which manga to start with?
I was wondering how hard each of the manga available at the store is. I know that Crayon Shinchan is supposed to be the best to start with, but which other one may be good. Thanks.

...Huh? Is manga hard? I guess a beginer trying to read backwards it would be kind of weird but I never thought it was really hard to do. Any book or series would be good to just pick up and read I guess...
I'm sorry but I don't quite understand what you're trying to ask

There are no dumb questions, therefore, they are all of equal stupidity.

Reread his post in the context of learning Japanese.

I'm not sure what Crayon Shinchan is, but I occasionally get the weekly or monthly magazines that come out. They are way above my level, but I can read through and recognize some Kanji/readings and occasionally pick up a sentence or three. I think Shounen Jump has furigana for all the Kanji, and the stories seem to be targetted towards a young audience. I wouldn't call it easy tho.

Oh, another option is to get bilingual manga, which is typically made for Japanese people learning English. The give you English in the captions and Japanese along the side. It's not super useful for me tho, since they don't give furigana. I imagine it would really help somebody further along in their studies. You can get Ghost in the Shell SAC at j-list, and if you search bilingual manga on ebay you'll usually find something.

I think I understand what you mean by "hard". For example, I started reading Peacemaker: Kurogane for my first manga....and didn't understand ANY of it! Try starting out with Naruto. It is a good first manga.
Anata mo Watashi mo Pocky!!
