For me it was Jon Pertwee followed by Patrick Troughton with Tom Baker third. They have just finished showing the series with Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor here and I couldn't get into it at all.

RE: Firefly
HI EVERYONE!!!!
sorry but you guys kinda lost me there with all the sci-fi-technical stuff...with your laser cannons, beams, aliens, evil doers, clones, and whatnot (ok, not really, im kinda a nerd[though i look like perfection])
isnt Firefly sort of a cowboy-space combo kind of sci-fi? i think i saw my mom watching that show on the sci-fi channel
(im the kinda nerd that is sort of "i dont care" but i am smart, though i say dumb things the likes of which the earth has never known B)

I've seen Serenity, and I love it. Anyone noticed that there's quite a bit of Japanese (writing) in Serenity? Watch it closely and you'll notice it.
You probably saw the Kanji in it. In the show they speak both English and Chinese as the main languages. All lot of their stuff is occasionally written so.

Yeah, but annoyingly a lot of katakana seems to pop up. Inexplicably.

Yea, I thought seeing the writing was cool. I think the story was that Japan took over China, so that even when China left earth, they took the writing system with them, or something.
I was reading some Dr Who stuff and it said that Baker was more popular in America than Britan because Baker was the first Doctor that Americans were exposed to. We didn't see the other doctors until they started doing re-runs.

I *loved* Firefly. Best SF show I've seen in a while. Heart. Characters that you cared about. Genuinely witty writing. Excellent camera work. Mike, send me your address and I'll inflict Firefly on you.
Thanks for the very kind offer, but I already have much or all of it lying around burned onto a DVD-R someplace.

OH! RED DWARF!!! I love Red Dwarf, I've watched it all my life. There might be a Red Dwarf film in the next few years, they have a script but they need...something...I can't quite remember lol.
The theme song is so weird, you wouldn't think it was for a Sci-Fi Comedy series...
It's cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere,
I'm all alone more or less,
Let my fly far away from here,
Fun, Fun, Fun,
In the Sun, Sun, Sun...
Whoops, I got a little carried away lol.

I loved Red Dwarf. I think Cat was my favorite character.
And Cat found out the hard way just how backward it REALLY was.

RE: Firefly
Backwards is good, but my favourite Dwarf episode is probably DNA, when Kryten becomes a human and shows Lister pictures of his....you know lol.
Kryten: I want to know, is that normal?
Lister: What? Taking pictures of it and showing 'em to your mates?! No it's not.
I love that scene. One of the best in my opinion.

Obviously you just need some culture. Stop watching reality T.V. and start watching some decent television.
