RE: shout box
It's been a while since i posted.....
imo, I don't think it is too bad of an idea, but maybe elaborate shouts that require a lot of correction should be saved for the forums.
also at the same time, if there are a lot of "shouters", it could be difficult to fish through and find your original shout to correct it wouldnt it? once again, an opinion.

RE: shout box
I dislike the idea, actually. I see the shoutbox as a spontaneous means of communication. If someone from us shouts something reckless and stupid, then the whole world will be able to see it and we will feel ashamed and bad, bad people, which is what we deserve.
Giving us the ability to edit our posts would restrict our right to make fools of ourselves, at least in the shoutbox.
Of course, if it's something offensive or prohibited, an administrator will take action.

RE: shout box
Or maybe people just should check their grammar and possible typos before posting to shoutbox (this applies to forums as well)?
(English is not my native language, so I ignore any complaints about my bad grammar and typos. 笑 Of course I don't make mistakes in purpose...)

RE: shout box
lol, I tend to make a lot of edits to my posts because I'm a perfectionist. In fact, a majority of my posts are edited. I guess I like the shoutbox because it doesn't have an edit button, which helps me resist the urge to edit. If that even makes sense... :p

Ironically you didn't edit this one.
Two muffins were baking in an oven. One turns to the other and says "sure is hot in here." The other replies "AH TALKING MUFFIN!"

RE: shout box
Hmm... As I said, I try my best to write correct English and reread my texts before posting them. If there are people who don't and they come and complain about not existing edit button, I feel that I have some kind of right to tell them about it. Of course I didn't mean that because I'm not native English speaker, I had "privilege" to use that as an excuse to write poorly and ignorantly.Ozymandias wrote:

(And this is nothing personal to the started of this thread, I don't know why he/she wants to have editing possibility to shout box. Maybe he/she just wants to add something that he/she forgot to write and doesn't want to post two messages in a row.)

RE: shout box
i think there should be a edit button for our shouts , like there is for our posts in the threads.does anyone think this is a good idea?
I really don't think there's a point. Things people say in the shoutbox aren't usually important. Why should you have to edit? If anything there should be a limit. No more than 3. And sometimes 3 can be a little much too.
