I was reading the japanese wikibook and found these lessons
very interesting, they are about ancient hira/katakana that are in
disuse.

No that I know of, the kana for wi, yi, etc were removed and standardized after WWII, so I wouldn't call them ancient. :) I think they were replaced and used only with thier respective vowel kana (ie wi replaced with i).

I knew that there were obsolete kana for 'we' and 'wi', but I never knew about 'yi'! Are there obsolete kana for 'yi' and 'ye'?
