Death Note
Death Note is based off an anime. It's a great movie, first of 2, but the second is not out yet.
It is not as good as the anime, but it is still great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXUUTvHxmgI <-- trailer here.

This is what I think the OP is trying to say.

And it's still totally out of the blue with no setup or introduction.
My reply would then be... "And?"
I still weep for the English language.

I weep for Japanese sometimes...sooner or later everything is probably going to be replaced by katakana English words and the Japanese language will become nothing more than horribly pronounced English....but enough with my delirious ranting...
Hhmm...never heard of Deathnote, but I'm feeling way to lazy right now to copy and paste that link into my address bar and press go...

Two muffins were baking in an oven. One turns to the other and says "sure is hot in here." The other replies "AH TALKING MUFFIN!"
二つのマフィンがオーブンで焼かれていた。片方のマフィンがもう一方のマフィンに向かって、"暑いね”と言った。すると、話しかけられたほうのマフィンは"アッ!喋るマフィンだ!”と驚いた。 :)

Well at least I now know where "L" comes from.
Good to see Takeshi Kaga, aka Chairman Kaga, in a more serious role.

Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

You should have seen him in Les Miserables. Quite a set of lungs on that guy.

Luckily that won't be in our lifetime tough. But I don't know. Isn't the japanese quite fond of their language? They'd probably reform in one way or another if that which you speak of was about to happen.

You need to check that anime out. I rarely watch anime but I still got quite hooked. Thumbs up for that show.

I thought you were pulling my leg before I looked further into that.
Incredibly, also:
Jesus Christ in Jesus Christ Superstar (1976)
Tony in West Side Story (1977)
Minor roles in Macbeth (2000) and Jekyll and Hyde (2001)
I almost fell of my chair when I read that....

RE: Death Note
Death Note movie has a really different plot from the manga. O_O
I was also shocked that Raito had a girlfriend in the movie while in the manga he doesn't have one not until Misa came and asked Raito to be her boyfriend.
When i watch Death Note:Last Name I told my friend what happened in the ending, he was shocked and said "WHAT? *$^&$%&$ died? and #%#$% didn't die?"
but I still like the movie maybe because of the difference from the manga and anime.

The 3d model of that Devil thing, in movie, just sucks.
They could have made it a bit better.. and more realistic.

Ryuk the shinigami in the Death Note movie was well made, he looks exactly like he is supposed to look. Were you guys fans of the manga before you saw the movie? It is pretty popular in japan
