Hello,
how to write furigana with Office 2007? I have installed Japanese language support.
The magic words for Google are "asian layout" "phonetic guide" and "microsoft word"

Have you looked up "ruby" in Office Help yet? That's how I found out how to set up Word 2003 for furigana. (Ruby is the generic term for furigana.) I don't have access to Word 2007, so can't help beyond that.

ruby was not found in help...
So was "asian layout" or "phonetic guide" found in help?
EDIT: In fact I know darn well that both of those _are_ in Word 2007 because by the (oh so obscure) trick of adding 2007 to the previously mentioned Google search I found this file
http://office.microsoft.com/download/afile.aspx?AssetID=AM101938681033
which gives what locations in Word 2007 go with what locations in Word 2003.

i was unable to find it. Is it possible that furigana was removed from 2007 office? By the way, I use English one.

I read that article, I can type kanji, but furigana is something mysterious...

Well, do you have Phonetic Guide as a choice in the Asian Layout submenu of the Paragraph submenu of the Home menu? That's what you need to use to enter furigana.

How is it in the Japanese (or English, even) version of Open Office? I have both, but since I have very little occasion to actually compose anything at all, let alone something requiring furigana, I have never looked into it.

RE: Furigana
From the Open Office Help:
Asian Phonetic Guide
Allows you to add comments above Asian characters to serve as a pronunciation guide.
These commands can only be accessed after you enable support for Asian languages in Tools - Options - Language Settings - Languages.
To access this command...
Menu Format - Asian phonetic guide
1.Select one or more words in the document.
2.Choose Format - Asian Phonetic Guide.
3.Enter the text that you want to use as a pronunciation guide in the Ruby text box.
