Book recommendation?
I read a lot and one of my New Year's Resolutions was to read more nonfiction. I've always been interested in Japan's participation in WWII-- not so much the military or political aspect of it but I guess the citizen's life during that time and how life in Japan changed as a consequence. I've read novels that touched on these themes but never an actual nonfiction book about it. Does anyone have a recommendation of one? Like I said, not one that focuses on battles or military maneuvers, but on the what it was like for the average Japanese citizen.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Book recommendation?
If you are looking for primary documents published during 1945-1949, I suppose "The Gordin W. Prange Collection" has many materials.

RE: Thanks
Thanks! I was hoping for a book of some sort that I could read on the subway, but this gives me a place to start.
