My favorites are Pornograffiti, Bump of Chicken, Mr. Children, L'Arc~En~Ciel, and レミオロメン. I also enjoy listening to the occasional chorus of 空船(そらふね)and なだそうそう.

I like Flow, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Orange Range, and Beat Crusaders. Not a huge fan of Gakt though. As long as the music is fast and loud with tons of power chords, I'm happy

My number 1 is L'arc en Ciel. Sometimes when I listen to their song for the first time, it sounds ordinary. But after I listen to it some more times, it's getting better and better.
My friends said so too. Weird, but that happens
I also like Utada Hikaru, Chemistry, Asian Kung Fu Generation, Ken Hirai, Orange Range, Do As Infinity, Gackt and recently Takacha

For me, Japanese Music rocks, Gackt, The Pillows, Asian Kung Fu Generation and Charcoal Filter (I've only heard one song, but it sounds like it's ska
).
Speed Master and Redemption by Gackt are awesome, their kinda J-Rock for those of you who haven't heard these songs, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Fdm2Vjh6E0, this is the live version of Speed Master. It's kinda rubbish quality, but it's YouTube i s'pose eh?
Enjoy

Teriyaki Boyz are my personal favourite for while I'm out BMX-ing, though I wish I knew enough Japanese to understand more than "いちばん!".
Megumi Hayashibara is quite good as well, though if I'm listening to J-Music, it's probably traditional music.
