Anyone got a Wii?

sumi, me and my friends was saying they reason they made it was so us fat people would get up and do something instead of sitting.

i think the reason for the shortage is cuz no one thought the wii would be this popular, i mean alot of people thing the motion cersoring wouldnt work and all this.

most places here did only get like 6 ish on the 2nd shipment, bestbuy is the only high one, its weird that bestbuy gets more then gamestop.

It's really weird that a town that's about 2 miles big and only has one (proper) video game store got WAY more Wii's than most places in America. What was Nintendo thinking? Lol.

Any1 hear about the kid who opened his chrismas present early that was a gift from his grandma? It was a Game Boy SP and when his mother found him playing it she called the cops and they charged him with petty larceny I don't think ur mom would do that, but I still think it would be better to wait, just in case

I want a Wii, but my parents won't get me one and I have to actually work for it! (Hahaha! I'm so spoiled!) Since I lack necessary funds, it's impossible for me to even think about getting one (actually, I only have about 150 left to go untill I can buy one but I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!! ). I haven't even checked any stores about shipments or anything because it'd just depress me... It's a sad story really...

I didn't know that it was coming out till 2 weeks ago and now it's impossible to get one... unless I wanna spend £300+ on ebay for a console with no games. I missed amazon selling them by a few minutes so as you can imagine I'm mighty pissed off. And cos I live in the middle of nowhere it's not exactly easy to find even a shop that sells DVDs... let alone Wiis.

I got one on release - fortunately, I live in a small town in mississippi. The local wal-mart got in 20 wiis, and it just so happened that exactly 20 people were in line.

I'm very impressed with the system! The motion sensing works better than I thought it would, and really adds a bit of debth to the game.

My only gripe is that they, of course, took out all Japanese support. However, they added French and Spanish! I mean... it wouldn't have been that hard to just, leave Japanese in there. Ah well, I didn't expect any different, though.

The wii just came out in Japan not long ago. Does anyone know yet if Japanese games are compatible with American consoles? I don't expect it to be, but from what I was reading, there is a possibility.

America got the Wii first (end of November I think), Japan got it on the 2nd of December and Europe got it on the 8th of December.
Nintendo is obviously a Japanese company, so why was it released in America first?

im not sure about the games, but when the internet channel comes out you probably could DL the japanese support if you really wanted it.

i'll probably get it my self if you can do that, but they should have left the japanese in there. like with the DS they have like 8 languages you can put your DS in, really cool.

I know, I know, my bro has one, but its funny cause you always here bad stories about game systems, the 360 was catching on fire, the Wii is, the strap snaps and it flys into a tv, and PS 3 is the wonderful story of being mugged for it, in broad daylight.

but the zelda game rocks, for the wii of course.

This is just speculation on my part, but I always thought that it was because of
a) Black Friday

and

b) Because it's a family oriented system, and they wanted families playing it together during thanksgiving. Also probably why they included wii sports (the most group-friendly game) in the US release, and not the Japanese one.

So, for those of us that do have them, how about exchanging friend codes?
I got a whole bunch of Miis that are looking to be free.

I just played trough Rayman Raving Rabbits. It's pretty funny, but luckily i just borrowed it and didn't bought it. As it get's boring after several sessions..
So, maybe we could share our wii codes to share mii's or whatever?

Yea, I picked up my wii on the US release day, but I never hooked it up till I went home for the Holidays, Big hit with my family. Even my old man who never played a game in his life got into wii sports.

Now if I can just find wii, controllers, points, ect. for it. LOL

Also whats up with the US version, I can pick 3 languages, None of which are Japanese if I remember right??? At least I can turn my PS3 and PSP language over.
