The ring 1 was ok, the second one wasn't scary at all, it was hilariously bad. Like when the girl is in the guidance counselor's office and they turn into blue zombies and start to groan, wtf? It was like they had severe constipation. And don't even get me started on that old guy playing peek-a-boo by himself on the bus...
Two muffins were baking in an oven. One turns to the other and says "sure is hot in here." The other replies "AH TALKING MUFFIN!"
二つのマフィンがオーブンで焼かれていた。片方のマフィンがもう一方のマフィンに向かって、"暑いね”と言った。すると、話しかけられたほうのマフィンは"アッ!喋るマフィンだ!”と驚いた。 :)

i liked the grudge and the ring. i think the fascination of them wears off when it seems everyone tries to spoof them or mimic them..
i find the novels about the stories much more horrific and scary, as my imagination is so much better than something done on screen or dvd.

I saw "The Grudge" a long time ago with a friend and we spent the entire time screaming. And after the movie was over, my damn black cat ran up to us and meowed >.<
I just saw "Ju-on" by myself in my dorm room last week... I haven't been able to sleep with the lights off since...
I hate these kinds of movies because they scare the hell out of me, but I watch them anyways.

I cant help but laugh at asian horror movies.... they just arent scary.
Audition wasnt a "horror" movie in my opinion.

the movie isn't not scary because it's asian.. it's not scary because the director is a hack... it's like watching stephen king after reading his books. how do you even come close to directing something that you yourself see in your mind. your mind is so direct that any producer/director has no chance to beat out your fears and your minds ability to scare you.
i would suggest if you don't get scared at the movies, you need to let go abit.. you know.. let your imagination run with whats on screen.
teh typical horror genre is bombarded with "slash or unexpected pop out" thrill shots that hit you unexpectedly and as such if it doesn't pop out, you don't get the thrill..
oh well,

The Grudge 2 (North American Version) was a terrible horror movie, though probably could have fared well as a comedy. For example: when the girl is in counceling and her two ghost friends appear and start wailing like a walrus, I was laughing so hard, I was almost thrown out of the theatre.

Honestly I think its because I was desensitized at a very young age... I remember my father watching the exorcist with me when i was 9 or 10... and then I started watching Takashi miike movies when I was 12ish....
Im guessing thats why.

6?
No, there are only 4 movies in the Ju-on (呪怨) series.
Juon (2000)
Juon 2 (2000)
Juon - The Grudge (2003)
Juon - The Grudge 2 (2003)
The two USAian movies are remakes (copies?) of the last two.

I hate The Grudge. I remember seeing it in the theatres (when I was in... 5th grade I think) and it wasn't scary and was really stupid.
I hate horror movies because they are usually dumb and I don't get afraid. I laugh or get bored of them.
