New to Japanese....

Postby rjweng91 » Thu 08.04.2005 2:09 am

Hello all,

I have been trying to learn from this site for about a month now, while at work. I work the 3rd shift so I get some time to read the webpage. I have been trying to learn and memorize Hiragana. I have been having some trouble but this site is great. I sent this site to a friend of mine that took Japanese in College, that way I will have someone to help me. I am not allowed to use the Chat while at work otherwise I would be using them. Anyways just dropping a line to say Hi to all.

Also as a noob is it beeter to learn Hiragana or Katakana?

This is a preference question, so my preference is hiragana, since you MAYBE won't be writing a lot of English-borrowed (like butta I believe is one) words (and katakana is the writing for borrowed words, so...).
