Fish question

Hi everyone.

I'll be going to japan for a month in a few weeks, and I'm a little bit worried about something:

Although I'm not a vegetarian, I don't eat any fish or sea food (nori and food cooked using "fish-broth" is ok, I'm not *that* strict about it).

So my question is: What would be the best way to interact with a waiter/waitress to get my message across ?

I know this is not very common (specially in japan), so maybe it doesn't really make sense to tell the waiter "I don't eat fish" (Watashi wa sakana ga taberaremasen)

A better way would maybe to ask something in the vain of "Does this contain any fish ?", so if the waiter answers no, I know I'm good to go.

What do you think ?

Also, is the sentence "Niku mo sakana haitte inai ryori ga arimasu ka ?" correct ?

A friend of mine told me you could just ask for "sakanai", but that seem a little abrubt to me...

I recommend this way.
niku mo sakana mo haitte inai ryouri ha arimasuka?
the other way
niku ya sakana ga haitte inai ryouri ha arimasuka?

"sakanai" means "It doesn't bloom. "

I have one more question, I've been looking at various web pages and the translation for "niku mo sakana mo haitte inai ryouri ha arimasuka?" is always either "Do you have any dishes without any fish or meat?" or "Do you have any vegetarian meal?"

I do eat meat and I love it, it's only fish i don't eat.

In that case is it correct to say "Sakana mo haitte inai ryouri ga arimasuka?" ?


Also, what would be the simplest way of saying "I eat meat" or "Meat is ok" ?
"Watashi wa niku tabemasu"

It could be "nuki mo daijyoubu" - meat is also okay. You can replace daijyoubu with ii, or you could use what you said.
