Change brings life (various romantic versions ^_^)

Postby tanuki » Sun 02.04.2007 12:22 pm

(This was originally just for Spanish, but now all languages are invited! Please feel free to add your own translation! :))

This is a Spanish translation of Change brings life. SS-san has kindly allowed me to translate it into Spanish. I'm doing this mostly for fun, but I hope it can be of use to some people.

I'm no professional translator, so there are surely mistakes. Please feel free to correct. I'm translating from the English version of the text.

This is what I've done so far: (now complete)

El Cambio Trae Vida

Nature is full of hidden mysteries, but a good pair of eyes are needed to discover them.

A change from a slightly ugly caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly makes people marvel at the power of creator. Have we ever thought of the threats that a butterfly has to face during its life cycle?

A beautiful transformation - The Life Cycle of a Butterfly

Una hermosa transformación - El Ciclo Vital de una Mariposa

The life cycle of a butterfly consists of 4 stages:Egg, Larva (caterpillar), Pupa, Butterfly

Butterflies begin life as eggs. It takes about two to three weeks for the egg to hatch into a larva or caterpillar.

The caterpillar gains nourishment by eating a large quantity of green plants matter. During its growth, it would shed its skin several times. Then it weaves a chrysalis and becomes a pupa. This stage usually takes one to two months.

Many changes happen during the chrysalis stage. The wings, the legs and the rest of the butterfly are formed inside the chrysalis. The pupa becomes increasingly transparent. The caterpillar completes the miraculous transformation into a beautiful butterfly in about two weeks.

After the normal period as a chrysalis has passed, the butterfly will struggle out from the chrysalis. When it has completely separated from the chrysalis, it will eject the liquid from its end of its abdomen. This liquid is the waste accumulated during its chrysalis stage.

It expands its wings to its full extent and forces blood into them. After the wings have dried out and hardened, it flies away in search of a partner to extend the cycle of life.

Pupa is the last stage before it emerges as an adult butterfly. Butterfly is a very fragile creature especially during the pupa stage, as its movement in the chrysalis is very restricted. It faces fatal attacks from its predators like birds, dragonflies, spiders, iguanas, lizards, mice and other animals. The more scales fall from its wings, the more its life will be shortened. So, children mischievously catching butterfly are shortening its life indeed. As the pupa is unable to avoid any potential predators, it tends to be quite well camouflaged.

A freshly emerged, beautiful butterfly is now creating new beauty in the world. Of course, it will have to brave the poor weather, the unsettled environmental conditions, and always be watch out of its predators.

Ponder:
A man saw a butterfly struggling to emerge from the cocoon. He tried to help it by taking a pair of scissors and cutting open the chrysalis, to enable it to fly as soon as possible. Who would have thought that the butterfly would flutter its wings a few times, fall to the ground and crawl. Unable to fly anymore, it was eaten by a bird soon afterwards ………

When a butterfly breaks out of its pupa, it has to go through a period of darkness and pain, nobody can help it through this, because any induced help will result in its death.

Similarly, every one of us has to experience things on our own while growing up. It is not possible to be happy all the time, and it may not necessarily be a bad thing to experience sadness.

Doesn’t Einstein's Theory on Relativity tell us that nothing is absolute in this world? If there is yin there is yang, if there is ugliness there is beauty, if there is difficulty there is simplicity, if there is pain there is happiness?

As such, we have to take life's challenges as opportunities to train ourselves to become more resilient, more thoughtful, more mature and more confident.

As I promised here it is the italian version... Same part as tanuki's (hi tanuki! hisashiburiiii! ;))

Il cambiamento apporta vita.

The life cycle of a butterfly consists of 4 stages:Egg, Larva (caterpillar), Pupa, Butterfly

Butterflies begin life as eggs. It takes about two to three weeks for the egg to hatch into a larva (or caterpillar).

Cooool! An Italian version! I've changed the thread title accordingly.

Any chance of getting a French version? That would be really romantic. ;)

My French is not brilliant but I am happy to volunteer if there are no takers.

Let me try the first paragraph before I go to bed:

hi let's do the Cantonese informal version here too. :D Please bear with me if you don't understand. I'll base on the original Chinese version from SS's father to translate it into Cantonese.

I've completed the Spanish version, but I haven't proofread it yet. I will update my first post. I've also created a Wiki page where all the other languages' versions can go. :)

Is this OK? Or should every language have its own Wiki page?

i would love to type all that in my language, but unfortunately no one would have the Unicode to be able to see the text.

That's a shame, Tri. But why not take chances? You can also add a romanized version in case people can't see the text.

----

As there are now many languages involved, I believe it would be better to have a different Wiki page for every one of them. I will create a page just for Spanish and add the link to the original Wiki page (I hope that's OK with you, SS-san). Please create your own page for your versions if you want. ^_^

Once again, thanks Tanuki for starting this thread.

I have mostly been getting ready the year of the boar. Maybe it was the whole festive thing, I think this is really a romantic gift idea for the forthcoming valentine day too. ;)

Bikki-san, just my thought, would you like to add your first translation sentence to the 2nd post? (Absolutely fine to maintain your 1st post with brief introduction there) ^^

Tri-san, it has been a while, glad to see you again. :)
Each reader has his/her own areas of interest, if people are interested in the thread, they would probably add IME. (make sense ??) Don’t get bothered. Would you mind telling us what language you intended to use? I have Burmese/Thai and Portuguese anyway.

Tanuki-san, as you know, I'm an IT baka. I don't know much about the fascinating indept of IT. So long as the Wiki page can be easily accessible, it's fine with me ^_^''

Thanks to tanuki for starting this thread. It is so interesting to compare all the languages next to one another. Also, thank you to all the other translators who have contributed.

Right, we now also have an Afrikaans translation.

I also would like to make a disclaimer similar to tanuki's. I'm no professional, so if you feel that there is a better Afrikaans translation, or if there are spelling/punctuation mistakes, please PM me and I'll edit it in (moet my asseblief nie stenig nie :)).

Change brings life

Verandering bring lewe

Nature is full of hidden mysteries, but a good pair of eyes are needed to discover them.

A change from a slightly ugly caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly makes people marvel at the power of creator. Have we ever thought of the threats that a butterfly has to face during its life cycle?

A beautiful transformation - The Life Cycle of a Butterfly

'n Pragtige transformasie - Die Lewenssiklus van 'n Skoenlapper

The life cycle of a butterfly consists of 4 stages:Egg, Larva (caterpillar), Pupa, Butterfly

Butterflies begin life as eggs. It takes about two to three weeks for the egg to hatch into a larva or caterpillar.

Skoenlappers begin hul lewens as eiers.

Unable to fly anymore, it was eaten by a bird soon afterwards...

As daar 'n yin is, moet daar 'n yang wees, as daar onooglikheid is, moet daar skoonheid wees, as daar ingewikkelheid is, moet daar eenvoud wees, as daar pyn is, moet daar geluk wees.

As such, we have to take life's challenges as opportunities to train ourselves to become more resilient, more thoughtful, more mature and more confident.

Change brings life.

Wandel bringt Leben.

Eine bewundernswerte Transformation - Der Lebenszyklus eines Schmetterlings

The life cycle of a butterfly consists of 4 stages: Egg, Larva (caterpillar), Pupa, Butterfly

Der Lebenszyklus eines Schmetterlings besteht aus 4 Abschnitten: Ei, Larve (Raupe) Puppe, Schmetterling.

Gedanken:

Subject to change.
