White Day/ Valentine's Day
What's the difference? There has to be a difference, otherwise they wouldn't have one of them. If there's no difference then what's the point?

RE: White Day/ Valentine's Day
Calm down a little bit, it all makes sense.
On Valentine's Day (February 14th) women give gifts to men (I think mostly chocolate).
On White Day (a month later: March 14th) men who received gifts on Valentine's Day must give gifts to women.

Oooooooooooooh...almost every anime I've ever seen makes suddenly more sense now! It made sense then but now it's significant!...But now I have another burning question. Why is it called White Day, or is it like Valentine's day and nobody really knows why it's named that way?

you should have done a quick search and you would know its called white day because the men was suppose to get white chocolate..

I believe it's customary that the gifts for White Day are colored white. (from white chocolate to white cars depending on your spendthrift and/or budget)

Money, loot, lucre, moola, scratch, dough, etc.
From a guy's standpoint, Japan has pulled off the world's sweetest implementation of Valentine's day.
The whole "White Day" thing is just opportunistic capitalism run amok on a population of gullible materialistic consumers (read: "sheep", baa baa baa baa). In other words, business as usual in the land of the rising sun.
Never underestimate my capacity for pettiness.

One of my favorite lines in Jeeves and Wooster:
Bertie: Why, Barmy?
Barmy: Money, Bertie. Moola. Oof. Spondoolicks!

RE: White Day/ Valentine's Day
White day was started by a marshmallow company to cash in on the valentines idea. Since nobody buys marshmallows on valentines, they advertised white day where you're supposed to by marshmallows for the people who gave you gifts on valentines. Everyone forgot all about that company after 10 years or so, and no one buys marshmallows anymore, but the tradition still remains.

RE: White Day/ Valentine's Day
so, we have valentines day (feb 14), where women give gifts to men. We have white day (march 14), where men who received chocolate on valentines day give gifts to those women. We have black day (april 14) where those who neither gave nor received gifts can get to gether to eat noodles with black bean paste to celebrate their being single.
and we are right to more holidays in May.. sounds like Japan and Korea know how to keep the holidays rolling.. lol
