Pleeeeease say you told him what it really meant. lol. His facial expression would have been priceless.
Two muffins were baking in an oven. One turns to the other and says "sure is hot in here." The other replies "AH TALKING MUFFIN!"
二つのマフィンがオーブンで焼かれていた。片方のマフィンがもう一方のマフィンに向かって、"暑いね”と言った。すると、話しかけられたほうのマフィンは"アッ!喋るマフィンだ!”と驚いた。 :)

Man, that's ludicrous!
It reminds me a lot of a girl who had 水子 tattooed on her forearm, and said it meant "child of the sea". /evil chuckle

Well, can't it technically mean that if the kanji are seperated (as in not one word)?

This one is supposed to be Chinese. Can anyone translate it for me?

They have separate meanings if they were separated, but there are just some things that can't be combined. This is an example.nick-san wrote:

"Man" and "juice" also have separate, innocuous meanings.
(Sorry, just trying to get a point across.)

平和 (へいわ) peace; harmony
Friends of mine bought a fountain that consisted of a rectangular sandstone block with the above two characters chiselled in it. The water ran down the face of the block over the characters. They asked me to translate it for them. Only problem was 和 was missing stroke number 1
愛和 (あいわ) ?? Well there is an 愛和クリニック
Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there
