What book to get...

I need to know what kanji book i should get. Can someone recommend a good book to me that will give me the meaning of the radical and the other symbols of each kanji (like break it down).
Is there even a book that does that?

I heard that the book "Read Japanese Today" is good, and i were going to buy it myself, but something got in the way. You can read about the first 300 Kanji.

i'll look into it, someone else gave me some good suggestions and i will need it because im going to japanese school in a couple of weeks.
