Dragon Ball! I used to love that one! I wonder why I stoped watching it...and I think you're right enpitsu00, Dragon Ball isn't really that old. Then agian, neither is Ranma 1/2 but those are the two most old school anime/ manga I've ever seen! (Not even Astro Boy has found it's cute lil' way into my hands...but it will sooner or later...)

I am still learning, so please be patient with me! Thank you! ^_^

sailor moon is from the 90s around the same time as dragonball.
So far Kagemaru and chikara are winning at the old school anime
I only remember Atomu because of the theme song, astro boy is before my time but I can only guess the others you listed are from the 60s or 70s
I also remember space battleship yamato around the same time as gatchaman and the original bubblegum crisis from the 80s. anyone a fan of those?

The original Dragonball was from about the mid 1980's...somewhere between '84-'86 if memory serves. Sailormoon came out in the mid nineties thereabouts.

That is the first thing that came to my mind when reading the topic. Every season of Lupin III is awsome but it is hard to find (besides the episodes that adult swim dubbed).
There are two great things about politics. One is the money and I forgot the other.

Sometimes I think that I'm afraid of thinking, and that scares me.

I remember that one. It's about the same time I also saw Fist of the North Star and of course, Wind Ninja Chronicles, but now we're getting into the flicks.
I remember there was a Medeval one that I used to love, sort of dungeons and dragons themed. It had an elf a dwarf a thief, the young sword wielding hero of course, a cleric...is this striking a chord with anyone? Gah, I can't believe I can't remember the name, it was a great series. I remember the hero's name was Pern and had a really nice end theme to it.

I see all (well actually most of) these threads about mangas and animes that are all fairly new and in the hype at the moment.
What about the Oldskool ones?!
Just to name a few:
Megaman (Rockman) - the real old one
Ultraman
Astroboy
Samurai Pizza Cats - hahaha! they keep rocking
Which one do you still know?
Omg! I remember the Samurai Pizza Cats! I used to watch that and "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" back when I was in kindergarten and had no clue what anime or even Japan was
Oh yeah, I can't forget Megaman; I watched that one quite often too. There's also "Kimba the White Lion", the original "Lion King"

It's not that I'm not knowledgeable, I just have trouble explaining the things I know ;)
