Hi Everyone
Just registered today !!! Hello to everyone here. I am hoping to learn some Japanese through this site. I was in Japan in June of this year and loved it. My other half is from Koshigaya, and we had a son this year...so I must start to learn eveything I can....as I now want to move there.....
What is the best way to learn conversation japanese to get by when I first get there?
I have looked over this site...and it seems very informative....so I joined.
I hope to learn enough to surprize her soon.
Thanks
Drew

RE: Hi Everyone
I started with a book from the 'Teach Yourself' series.
It's appropriately called Teach Yourself Japanese Conversation, by Helen Gilhooly. It comes with three CDs, the first two take you through the course's ten units. The third is for listening practice, spoken in "normal speed Japanese by sympathetic speakers".
Copy and paste the below into Google, or take it to your nearest bookstore.
ISBN: 034090027X
