RE: Dial Up Wii
As long as any wife of mine, does'nt turn the bedroom into a room of pink, flowery, lacy goodness, I'm pretty happy
I've seen some couple's bedrooms and can't help but wonder if the wife even is aware that there is a male sleeping in the same room.

Be careful, Infidel, some would say an avatar of a cute anime girl with purple hair may seem a bit feminine.

Anybody remember when the 9600 baud came out? I mean it was blazing fast; several times faster than the 2400!

bah, i remember going from 300 baud to 1200 baud... my 300 baud didn't even have a dialer, you had to dial the phone yourself and then press a button to activate the modem...

I don't. Should I be grateful?

I never had a 300 baud, but I did have a 1200 shortly before getting my 2400. なつかしい
Oh yeah.

My first computer experience was with a teletype terminal connected through dialup to a minicomputer in another town. I think it did 110 baud. The 300 baud video terminal the school got a bit later was faster.

ah, the days of 132 column teletype consoles with a real, physical bell for ^G ... who needs a screen when you have lot's of fan-fold green-bar paper and line-editors? we still use a hand-built Heathkit VT100 compatible terminal in our setup-room to do the initial configuration for switches and routers..

My father built a Heathkit color (yes it was in Color!) TV that we used for many years. Too bad you can't do that now.
You guys are going back before my day. But I do remember wondering why anyone would need a hard drive since you couldn't take it out!!?!
