Axis and Allies
RE: Axis and Allies
Every single time we have to look at your in-your-face netnym and avatar, we are having ONE side of a political debate forced upon us. It is just that the rest of us usually bite our tongues and try our best to ignore it in the interest of forum peace.
It is you, through your insistence on using an inflamatory and inherently political netnym/avatar who keeps things going. To now say that you're not trying to get a political debate going or offend anyone is duplicitous and disingenuous.
There is no reason to use an overtly political (and controversial) netnym/avatar on a language learning forum unless it is precisely your intent from time-to-time to surreptitiously poke a stick in the sh*t and stir vigorously.
Don't insult our intelligence.

RE: Axis and Allies
Well, you make very good points. I guess I have been pretty disruptive, and all of the problems caused certainly are entirely my own fault. I just didn't expect everyone to react so strongly and so frequently to the name and avatar. I certainly expected some sour messages and hate, but I expected it wouldn't be so often, and it would be almost entirely through PMs. It has been mostly, but it's also happening on the forum too much. I don't care if people disagree with me and/or hate me, but I don't want to disrupt the site so much. I'll delete the avatar and i'll ask zengargoyle to change my name back to "Takeo Saeki", what it was before. I'm sorry for disturbing the peace so much.

RE: Axis and Allies
To get back on topic...
The A&A game we play is made only for humans. The only reason they include a "try this game" link is so you can familiarize yourself with the interface and the way the game works before joining in with real people. Since some actions are undoable, it's important to know the rules and order of play so you don't make any mistakes. Trying the game out is just a place to practice, not to play the actual game.

And there is no such thing as a small mistake in this game.

I don't wish to be a pain, but I am anxious to see the bloodshed start up again.

Fixing my bayonet
RE: Axis and Allies
Which is entirely different from repairing one's bayonet. Isn't English fun?

Bump.

I think there is something sinister at work here. Keatonatron is obviously trying to build up an army of addicted members so he can take over the world. Axis and Allies is certainly good practice and I think he is letting us wait so we become more obsessed.
I am just joking of course.
Maybe a game will happen soon?

RE: Axis and Allies
Ever seen "Wargames"?

RE: Axis and Allies
I have. Thank goodness the computer worked it out.keatonatron wrote:

Anyway, may I ask how many are involved with Axis and Allies?
Edit as of this morning: Ah. I think I know what you meant now.

RE: Axis and Allies
Wow, I was there for that winning moment. An Armor unit up against a Jet Fighter and the Jet Fighter got a six. That was very good.
RE: Axis and Allies
I couldn't believe the jet rolled a six either. I thought a second invasion wave would be necessary. It was nice to play a game out to the bitter end for a change.
