Grand Theft Auto 3, but my favorite PS-PS2 games are Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid (guess where my nick comes from) and SoulReaver (all 3 are PS (1)).
While I'm at it, my favorite PC game is NetHack, and my favorite 2-player game is Liero

Shadow of the Colossus. Sure it was short, but the sheer scale of it was amazing. What ISN'T great about slaying a giant flying worm hundreds of feet above the ground?

dark_fire11: Shadow is my all-time number one game for PS2! and the geography of the continent was so well done, between the forest, the jungle, the plains(*hateful sigh* ohhh, the plains), and the wastelands... i felt like i was a grain of sand in a volley-ball court. the flying colossus in da desert was fun, but the swimming one was better, it would probably make a good theme park ride, ya? "Come one, come all to the worlds first Living water ride!!" i can see it now....

I was going to say Okami, until I remembered Final Fantasy 10. And Star Ocean 3, Shadow of the colossus, and psychonauts. Ugh, I feel like a mother asked to choose her favorite kid. By the way, I didn't much like the .hack games at all, despite enjoying the anime.
