New menu icons

After someone suggested making the logo a link to the home page and Zen magically made it so, I thought about making quick links to the main parts of the site in that empty upper right space.

I wanted put a link to the Video site since it isn't getting a lot of traffic , but what do you think?

Also is 掲示板 correct for the type of forum we have? Or should it be フォーラム?

I noticed the icons & they look good. Very handy.

I tried using the video sites, but the clips wouldn't play. (Strange because your "One Minute Japanese" clips had always played before.) I downloaded an update to my media player, but I haven't been back to the video site to test it out. I just mention this because other people may have had the same problem with clips not playing which could cause the traffic to be light.

Oh, these additions are quite handy. As for the 掲示板 and フォーラム thing, I think フォーラム would be more appropriate... that is unless this is a BBS.

Try updating your flash program. I am sure that is what it uses. Does anyone else have this problem?

Honestly, I don't know the difference in English... Should I change it to フォーラム?

yeah, try upgrading your Flash... i'm on Linux where Flash is usually a couple of versions behind the Windows/MacOSX versions. so if they work for me, they should definitely work for everybody else... i haven't had any problems with videos from the video.thejapanesepage.com site, so i doubt that there is a major problem for other users.

I did the update and just tried again. The videos are playing fine now.

掲示板 is used all the time on Japanese sites. I don't know that I've ever seen フォーラム.

I always thought BBS were the forums you could reach by dialup only by dialing that BBS's specific phone number, and maybe paying the subscription fee too.

The background for the new icons does not work with non-default themes. I use Azara and now they just clash with the rest of the website. Should be easy to fix maybe...

As for the Forums icon (smiley), i don't think it quite fits.
As for the icons in general. Its a bit redundant, in my opinion, but if they stay there other links should be present: faq and search

Ah, good idea - FAQ and Search. Maybe a link to Wagawiki would encourage additions too. But that would be too many...

Maybe I should remove 'Lessons' since that is pretty much all of the site outside of the forums.

How about:
Videos (I want to advertise this first) - Forums - Wagawiki (linked to the FAQ section) - Search

Any suggestions for icons?
