Axis and Allies
RE: Axis and Allies
We can set that up when Kagemaru comes back from obscurity.
Of course whoever gets Hark as their teammate would have an unfair advantage
I know, we'll give him Mike but only let Mike play as Germany.

Ah, this brings back memories -- some friends and I used to play every week for a while.
We adopted the "no first turn russian attack" house rule that was used in tournaments and elsewhere, because Russia has about an even chance to completely ruin Germany on their first turn; if the player tries that the game is basically over no matter what (if they succeed, Allies win, if they fail, Axis wins).

After several games, we tossed that rule out, because for us using it uniformly meant Russia got sliced, diced, and made into mounds and mounds of julienne fries (will anybody under 40 get that?) within about two turns.

The rule is not necessary as long as the Russia player will agree not to be an ass, but in our group of players that didn't work.

We have lots of time, don't we? We can try all possible pairs...

When will the next game be? I have a note to say that these games cannot stop.
Unless you need me on the Allies team, can I be an Axis this time please?

In my case, although I know I'll be informed via email, I continue checking regularly whether a new game already started or not. Axis & Allies is definitely highly addictive
From absolutely no activity on Keat's blog I assume that he hasn't got much time lately. I'm affraid we'll have to wait.

I would like to see at least two games going at once, whether we have enough active participants to necessitate it or not. At the very least, I would like to see a new game started whenever one player has been eliminated from the ongoing game.

I think we're currently enjoying two of the best games we've had yet.

RE: Axis and Allies
I thought I would reveal who I played as in the hidden games.
Mystery Game!: United States.
…And in the dark: U.S.S.R.
Tuesday: United States.
Is anyone else going to join? We are down to four now, although I do not mind playing as two Allies or both Axis.

Hello, are you still playing? I'm back and I can join some new game, if possible.
I'm sorry Mike, that we weren't able to achieve a single victory. Somehow everything went wrong

No apologies necessary. I have an overall losing record, I think. And I take full responsibility for my part in the losses.

Looks like the website is out of commission. That's okay, I was about ready for a break anyway.
