..once we're done studying Japanese to understand anime, manga and videogame, what else is there to study in the language?

Uh, actually talking to Japanese people?

That actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

I took it as a joke. I thought it was funny.
There are so many kids out there who only seem to interested in those aspects of Japan. I don't think charizardpal is one of them.
And, Tony, where do you get those animations?
EDIT: In fact, sometimes I feel out of place around here in that I'm not a teenager interested in learning Japanese for the anime, manga and videogames.

Either a joke, or maybe that was just an unfortunate way to word "what else might I find interesting in Japanese?"

I don't know where Tony got it, although I've seen it elsewhere on the internet, but I think it is from the movie "Scanners".
Also, I started learning Japanese out of some vague desire to know a second language + enjoying Japanese horror movies. I've watched a few anime series after I began learning it, but generally the manga/anime references go over my head. Solidarity, lalaith!

That's just a heck of a weird question. I mean, you could study your whole life and still have something to study of the language.
Geez, i don't know everything about my native language! I could know the double more of what i know!

Actually, I think a true answer to the original question could be "nothing". There's really no such thing as "done studying Japanese to understand anime" -- anime and the other stuff doesn't contain a specific subset of Japanese that can be isolated and learned independent of everything else. Depending on the genre and topic of the anime/manga, it can contain almost anything in modern Japanese, whether common slang or archaic literary language.

aKuMu, you have to work on that line (and localize it):
独太マラがあるぜぇ!
(Hm... should I use ある or いる? Is a 太マラ considered living being? It sure is a moving thing...)
