I think you guys might have to unfortunately close this post down due to flaming. If you do then that ok with me. I just don't feel like having a flame war on here...
There's nothing wrong with what you are doing, but don't be so defensive. SS was just trying to help.
I really hope it works out for you guys to have a good study plan together.
Let us know how we can help!

I am trying to get Coco-san to join us because I know she is fluent in japanese (or if she isn't i know she is wayyyyy past the 4 kyuu level) so she could be of great help if i can get her.
I misunderstood this too... don't you usually request a persons help instead of "getting" them. You phrased this weird, is probably why SS-san, "couldn't control herself".
Theres no need to be so defensive, nobody is flaming you. I think you should also keep in mind constructive criticism benefits you as well.

Tanuki - "I just thought I should mention that we did have a successful study group for JLPT4 last year. And we are planning a study group for JLPT3 for this year."
This wasn't addressed to you. I believe in a previous post clay told me that you guys had a successful study group. So don't worry about it man, I Congratulate you guys!

Ok Ok! I guess it's just a country thing, I'm so used to saying "get" vs speaking proper english I guess, and saying "request". So I will have to be careful with my wording on these forums...
Clay, thanks for the nice comments and help!

RE: 2007 JLPT 4 kyuu Study Group
On Saturday, I would like to chat either
early in the morning or night. On Sunday, I can only chat in the
evening
because of church. I am going to list the somewhat available times I
can
go on in GMT standard, if I got it right. I like in New York, so my
difference is GMT -4 with the daylight savings.
GMT
Sat. 10am-4pm , or 8pm-10pm or longer
Sun. 7pm-10pm
Structure wise, I am using Genki and I also like the online resources
at
mlc. Is the first meetup going to be this weekend? What do people want
to
discuss for the first meetup just to get things started?

TsukimiyaAyu, you mentioned mIRC right? (I'm lazy to go back one page and check if it was you... ^^)
Well, mIRC doesn't let you type japanese text... So, for me, that automaticaly excludes this option...
And Pandion is a great chat program, it works very well (though sometimes when using it, it makes the part of my language bar with the button to choose the language and the help button, disappear and i have to exit and reenter the chatroom),

Hm? There is? I'd like to see that. I've been using mIRC since...well, since i can remember, and i could never write japanese on it... And i had a few 'specialist' in it telling me it isn't possible..Even a japanese person.

Yep, it can be done. And I've also managed to do it without this.

Sure it is possible... There is a big learn japanese community on the Rizon server... on the channel #LearnJapanese feel free to come there... we have lots of quizbots, dictionaries and so on:) What is used on the channel is Utf8, which the newest version of Mirc supports:)

Hi, I'm kind of confused here. Where are we supposed to get the program from? Also, does it work on macs? Also, how do we log into the blog space?

RE: 2007 JLPT 4 kyuu Study Group
Mishcana- that is a good question. The Pandion program does not work on macs. I just assumed that everyone was going to be using a PC. But in your case you will need to download a program called "Adium X". It is a chat client for macs. you can download it at http://www.AdiumX.com.
Sei - the study group will be held next Saturday and Sunday, not today and tomorrow.
The times have not been decided just yet but I am going to post the times later on today though. I believe I am going to e-mail you guys the times. Not sure just yet. It might take awhile though because for some reason I have came down with a cold...
but I will post the times later.
