Japanese Comedy Recommendations

Can you guys recommend any Japanese comedies? I think I would enjoy any sub-genre of comedy, so don't be squeemish. (This is my first post, but I'm not big on introductions). The only one that I have seen was Densha Otaku and I really liked it.

If they're available on NetFlix, that would be a big plus. I'm having trouble picking out which Japanese movies to watch. It seems like they have a lot of older flicks. Although I have enjoyed all of the old Kurosawa Samurai flicks that I have seen, I think I've seen enough of the genre for the time being. (And also, movies that take place in the past are apparently not good at all for listening practice to an American).

I would highly recommend Nodame Cantabile, it is a drama of 11 episodes, but still I enjoy the humor tremendously each time I watch it.

Nodame isn't really called a comedy but its really funny I love that series, much like densha otoko. <3

I'd recommend GTO or gokusen, they are really funny too.

Well it is all how you define comedy. If comedy is something that causes laughter. I would strongly argue that Nodame is a comedy, as I am constantly humored throughtout the entire show, though, the show also has it dramatic/sad points.

At the moment I'm watching 'Antique'.
I'm only at episode 2 and it won't make you ROFL, so to speak, but even though I didn't really expect to like it, it turns out to be quite funny.
I'm a bit hesitant in choosing comedies at the moment, because I bought "New waters" which was supposed to be hilarious, but I thought it was a total bore.

O, and I really liked 'Fried Dragon Fish' as well...
It's a short movie, though, only about an hour, but worth every minute. (this doesn't sound like proper English?, but it's too late for me to rethink ^_^)

Another comedy I absolutely loved was Full Metal Panic Fumoffu...I even liked the dubbed version, which is rare.
