2007 JLPT 4 kyuu Study Group
RE: 2007 JLPT 4 kyuu Study Group
I know this one website that's a great help on particles. It's more like a big quiz though. I could bring up some of the questions during the meeting.

Yeah I would prefer learning more about grammar than Kanji at this time as I think it would be more useful.

Hey Spikeygal! Which JLPT study guide do you have--do you have one of the previous tests like you can get from Clay's bookstore or do you have an actual book?? I've been thinking about buying one but I wasn't sure which one to getSpikeygal wrote:
I've got some work from the JLPT study guide that I could scan up. It's on basic particles (ga, ha, wo, etc.) They're not great to work from though, as they really only have example sentences. No good exercises.

I'm really looking forward to these study groups...it's one thing to work on your own but I feel like I get so much more accomplished when studying with other people!!

as far as what to work on...either kanji or grammar are fine with me...I know somewhere down the line I need to work on verbals...I'm ok with the distal style (i.e -masu/mashita) but I've never studied the direct style. I'm sure we'll get to that eventually!!

Oh if anyone is interested, on Meguro Language Center's website, they have a pdf of 121 JLPT 4 verbs...on the chart, it lists the -masu form, meaning, group, dictionary form, -nai form, -de form, and -ta form. It's 4 pages, and it's very helpful if you have trouble with verb conjugations like I do

Thanks! that is a very useful link, although kanji along with the hiragana wouldve been nice. I'll use it as a conjugation chart

Shall I scan up a page or two from my book to see if we should use it tonight? I'm not sure it'll make for good discussion material, to be honest. It's more like "Here's an example sentence, run with it."
MushikoKr, I got the 4kyuu study guide from Unicom. It's good to revise from, but lacks in exercises a lot. It does have a few more for vocabulary than it does for particles and such.
Edit: These are some scans I've done. I'll remove them if necessary - I just want to get some other people's opinions on whther we should use them tonight or not.

Thanks Spikeygal! I'm ok with going over those pages during the meeting.
By the way, it looks like the 3rd and 4th pictures are the same.

Oops! I'll correct that now. Thanks for telling me.

Good evening everyone, tonight in our third group meeting we discussed about the particles が and は. We tried example sentences where we left out the particle and tried to guess what particle was most suitable.
For tomorrow's lesson, we hope to discuss about the particles を and に. As well, as some members want to improve their vocabulary, we have agreed to learn the first 25 words of this vocabulary list: http://jlptstudy.com/4/index.htmlPress Vocabulary.
I guess that summarises what we did and plan to do. Hope more people show up tomorrow.
