old chat, new chat

the old/new chat server is up on the new TJP site. you will have to register again. expect odd stuff to happen as i try to move over the old stuff. the 'lounge' room is up and i'm there at the moment.

i just got it working this morning, i'll try and move over the old database and web stuff, but it's a new version of the chat software that i haven't looked at yet.
gimme a week and i'll try to get things back to normal, but at least now, chat is on TJP server and not some 3rd party provider. should work out well in the end.

i use pidgin and it's great, i have work chat, TJP chat and Google chat at the same time... send me message if you have problems, chat is *beta* testing mode, i can add you if you have problems... eventually it will be like old times and you will login with TJP user/password. just not there yet. :)

'signing up' in Pidgin

Go in an manage the account.(Ctrl+A)
Modify your Jabber account.
At the bottom check the lowest check box called "Create this new account on the server"

The rest should be simple. :)

Well, I'm signed on again (after going through the Sign-up process on Pandion again).

I'd also like to know if there's a way to do that without Pandion. :) (I use Pidgin as my actual client. I only have Pandion installed for that sign-up part.)

Do you know of a way to

Do you know of a way to register apart from using Pandion? Mac users have a little bit of trouble getting that to work . . .
