Blog In Japanese X English - Ranting About School
Anyway, there's one teacher in particular.
My maths teacher.
I hate her classes so much it drives me insane.
So much so, on my way back from Italy (I got home yesterday from a 10 day holiday in paradise) I was sincerely hoping that the pilot had passed out, lost control and/or was a hijacker in hopes that the plane would crash and I would meet an early death so that I wouldn't have to go back to her classes.
But I'm still alive and kicking, so I'll be on the lookout for any on-coming cars on my way to school on Monday.
Yes people - I hate school THAT much.
In Japan, Teachers aren't allowed to lose their tempers, shout or punish students, so students can't be punished for being late to school.
If >I'm< even 1 minute late for registration in the morning - classes havent started by then - then I'm marked as late. If I'm marked late 3 times then I'm deemed as being "Wrong" I am Wrong because the traffic was heavy in the morning and held us up on my way to school. That's >MY< fault. So >I< get put in detention until 4:30 on a Thursday afternoon.
The teachers can shout at us and we're not allowed to shout back.
We get suspended for having an attitude.
The weird thing is - Japan has the highest rate of teenage suicides in the world for the amount of pressure on them in school.
Well - it sounds like an easy ride in comparison to the prison I'm commited to for 31 hours a week.
Here's a list of the things you're not allowed to do in my maths class:
1. Ask your neighbour for help.
3. Look at the clock
4. Rest your chin/head in your hand while you work.
5. Talk back.
I don't mind school, like going to school, I just hate maths. Of all things I hate in this world: Racists, War, Terrorists, I hate my maths teacher more.
I'd like to see the day when quadatric equations can solve all my problems.
It ain't happenin, and it's no secret of mine. It's not that I dont understand it, of course I do, but I just detest it more than anything. Maybe it's the teacher I hate more - I'm not sure.
I guess I picked a bad year to stop caring about school - my 5th year - I have GCSEs to do. 9 of them. Unfortunately you cant drop maths as a subject choice.
I have one year of it left to endure and thank god cause I cant take it anymore.
I think for the time being - I'm going to focus on Kanji and vocab. I'm starting to use particles automatically when I talk to myself (and the cat) in Japanese, without thinking about it. Whether theyre the right particles or not is another thing.
Anyway- I'm boring myself here, so I'm devoting myself to Japanese only websites for the next year.
This one is included tho :D
