Anyone studying for JLPT 2008?

こんばんはみんなさん。勉強しますか。

I'm new to this page and is taking the JLPT Level 4 this year. I've studied japanese for a few years now, can could probably take level 3 with some work, but I thought it would start out with Level 4 in order to get to know the different steps in the test.
I've heard that they are updating the tests so there will be 5 levels in a few years, and so that it will be possible to take the exam twice a year. Nice.

How do you study for JLPT? Do you just start memorizing kanji, grammar etc. required? Do you practice by reading texts? If so, what kind of text and from where?

Kind Regards

Well, you have to be prepared for each section of the test. The best way to find out your strengths and weaknesses is to take a previous year's test. If you have never taken the actual test, it may be worth the money to buy last year's test (we have them at www.thejapanshop.com).
