One of the things I've learned is that you have to catch yourself avoiding trying to read Japanese when you see posts on the forum in Japanese etc. For me it was almost a reflex to skip those posts, or to think they were beyond my level... but you have to try to look at them and sound out what you can. Even if you can't understand all of what's being said, you still get the practice recognizing the characters etc. :)

Even as a beginner you can usually read most of the posts in the Introductions forum (unless the user is already advanced).
